چکیده

It has previously been shown that inulin clearance, diodrast clearance, and diodrast Tm are significantly lower in males between the ages of 60 and 80 years than in males 20-40 years of age (1, 2). The clearance and Tm values commonly used as norms are based on averages calculated from observations made on subjects between the ages of 17 and 68 years (3-5). The present study was undertaken to evaluate the rate of the age changes in renal functions previously reported.

Determination of renal handling of marbofloxacin in Lohi sheep (Ovis aries) following a single intravenous administration

The objective of present study was to investigate renal clearance, urinary excretion and underlying excretory mechanism of marbofloxacin in Lohi sheep. For this purpose, marbofloxacin was administered intravenously (IV) as single bolus dose (2.5 mg/kg body weight) to eight healthy sheep of Lohi breed. After start of experiment, blood and urine samples were drawn at predetermined time intervals ...

Synthesis, formulation and quality control of 99mTc-MAG3, as a renal tubular 99mTc-radiopharmaceutical kit [Persian]

Radionuclidic techniques may provide assessment of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) effective renal plasma flow (ERPF) or individual renal function. Several agents were available for determination of these parameters such as ¹³¹I-OIH (O-iodohippurate) and different derivatives of DADS (Diamidodisulfur). OIH has the disadvantage of imparting a relatively high absorbed radiation dose to the...

The glomerular clearance and renal transport of hemoglobin in adult males.

The demonstration by Polonovski, Jayle, Boussier and Badin (1, 2) that certain plasma proteins have the property of binding extracorpuscular hemoglobin has led to recent re-evaluation of the mechanisms of renal transport of hemoglobin in the dog (3) and in man (4). Lathem (4) showed that circulating extracorpuscular hemoglobin is bound quantitatively to the a2-globulin, haptoglobin. By utilizin...

Studies on the Mechanism of the Abnormal Sodium Excretion in Arterial Hypertension.

IT HAS been demonstrated that patients with essential hypertension excrete an intravenous sodium load more rapidly than do individuals with normal blood pressure.1-7 The data suggest that this abnormality results from the elevated blood pressure. Among the several explanations that have been offered for this excretory alteration are unspecified extrarenal factors6 and such intrarenal disturbanc...

Renal physiology in pregnancy.

The changes which occur in renal excretory function during pregnancy are discussed. The relationship between glomerular filtration rate and effective renal plasma flow is examined in the light of new serial data obtained under conditions of saline diuresis. Changes in the renal handling of nutrients and in the excretion of waste products during pregnancy are reviewed.
